Dec. 31st, 2004 12:59 pmI don't know how this works in other countries, but here firework went on sale the day before yesterday, so for days we've had guys (and an occasional girl) walking around the neighborhood setting off rockets, firecrackers and whatnot; lots of bangs, smoke and the smell of sulfur everywhere. We bought our share yesterday, to set it off at midnight, and allow the boys to set some occasionally in our garden outside. They're at it at the moment.
This year we stayed at home, because of the cat; we didn't know how he'd react to all the noise. He's taking it quite well. In fact he's constantly trying to get to them and scratching the window, mewling pathetically until they finally get inside and he can sleep on a chair anywhere where they are sitting, playing some board-game.
Somehow I think we've picked the perfect cat for us.
