Actually, the first birthday present I got was last Thursday, from [livejournal.com profile] gayadi. When I picked her up to go to the Gogol Bordello party concert, she had a big ass flower made of velvet and a sweet card with a picture of both of us at the Sin City meet up.

That same day my husband had had to call in sick from work, and my daughter already had been sick home for a couple of days, and since Friday it didn't look any better, I called off the people who were going to come during the weekend: we clearly needed some time to sleep in and just hang around the house, recovering from our colds. That same evening the first birthday wishes popped up on my friendslist.

Saturday husband was well enough to go and buy present with the boys, because they hadn't gotten around to that yet, what with being sick and all. Daughter was still not well enough to go out. Since I'd already gotten the Sentinel discs (which were supposed to be my birthday present) for Sinterklaas, they kept it moderate with a nice bottle of white wine, a bottle of red current gin and a terry bathrobe. And they'd also bought a cherry pie, because that's my favorite :D

Birthday wishes kept popping up on my friendslist, some of which I like to show off point out specifically: )

I got lovely E-cards and sweet emails. [livejournal.com profile] absolutefiction send me a season holiday version of my default 'my favorite geek' icon:

And only when I wanted to upload it to my userpics, I found out she'd also gifted me with a year of extra user pics, so I spend part of my birthday (re)-uploading icons!! :D

In the evening hubby and I watched a couple of Sentinel eps, went to bed early and had a good night's rest.

Sunday was a quiet day, just as we needed and it was very nice indeed. We had the birthday dinner we'd postponed from my birthday, because now we all felt well enough to actually enjoy it, and everybody helped preparing and cleaning up afterward, so yeah...
In the evening hubby and I watched some more Sentinel eps, and since we were sort of still celebrating my birthday I thought he was doing a good job of humoring me. I had some of that red current gin and he had some wine we'd left over from dinner, and we decided this had been a good weekend.

Last night hubby was flipping channels, said nothing interesting was on and maybe we could watch another episode of The Sentinel. Heheh.
