This (now completed) series started with one of AQ's 'ask and you shall receive' entries. [livejournal.com profile] shaenie asked for Billy/Elijah as hitmen. AQ was supposed to write a *giggle*drabble*snort* BWAHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAAH!!!*wheeze*.

Anyway, it sort of became a fic, with a sequel, which became a series in 7 parts, but you won't hear me complaining.

It's about as AU as AU can get, with extremely fascinating characters who are understandably attracted to each other. One of the most arousing things about this series is that due to the special abilities and/or handicaps of some of the characters, the sense of touch becomes more important and prominent. This makes for extremely erotic, sensual and sensuous sex scenes, with the kind of casual sense of humor and sex that manages to be both horny and kind, that's sort of AQ's trademark.

part 1: 'Sniper sight'
part 2: 'If you could see with my eyes'
part 3: 'Sun-blind'
part 4: 'Almost blinded by it'
part 5: 'Coming undone'
part 6: 'Braille'
part 7: 'Vivid'

I think everybody who knows me knows I like both slash and het sex fics. There are lots of writers out here who keep me satisfied where it comes to slash. Good het fics on the other hand are damn hard to find, so I consider myself lucky to have found [livejournal.com profile] bandwench. To me she not only proves that het sex is damn hot, but also that it's possible to write a OFC ('original female character', someone who's made up by the writer) I can identify with. I love her fics, her OFC, the fact that she treats us to these fics on a regular base (approximately every Woodsday) and the way she shows that sex within marriage can be damn hot.

The fic I'm rec'ing here is an excellent example of this all. Her Elijah is one horny guy! Just the way I like him.

Set aside your prejudice against the genre, and try this.

[livejournal.com profile] rosemending has a small but faithful group of readers, who love her for the way she's different, outrageously funny, with boundless fantasy that goes every which way, who hasn't written an unkind character that I'm aware of yet. She's as adorable as the people she writes about and just as unique.

In this fic everything is upside down and the other way around; some of the cast are still the cast, some are now crew or they're cast as something different. But I can easily see Elijah as Liv's personal assistant, fussing and cursing. And Dom who works on sound, following Liv adoringly. Or is he?

This series has drawn me in right and good. I read stories like this like it's a screenplay, a script, and (in this case) Elijah and Orlando are cast in the main parts. Every new chapter grips me more, the more I learn about these characters, the more I love them.

You may know that I'm not fond of extreme angst and drama in fics, so it may come as a surprise that there are some dramatic turns of events in this fic; happening now and referred to as happened in the past. But I still wouldn't call this an angsty or dramatic fic. These are the kind of things we all have to deal with and if the characters who this is happening to can handle it, and help each other in handling it, it's not distressing, but encouraging reading.

So far the focus has been on the growing trust and bond between Elijah and Orli, with a great deal of realism.

This is what I originally said at the start of this series:

The reason why I even tried this was because I already loved her Dom/Elijah Mpreg. And I read that because I loved her Daniel/Rupert fics. It made me trust her with this new series; that she could write realistic people in an unrealistic situation and that she could write adolescents. Well, she can, and now I'm hooked. I want the next chapter.

It's completely outrageous, hilarious, with some serious moments, surprising subtleties and wonderful characterizations.

Oh, and it's not really Draco/Harry in a sense that they're a pair as in 'lovers'. At this point they'd kick my ass if I'd imply that. Although it could have it's advantages...

Let's say, I'm not inclined to use my romantic Draco/Harry icon.

I'd like to add:

I love her Hermione and Ron (there's a bit of R/Hr on the side, which I adore). The rating has gone up and I can now use my Draco/Harry icon. You draw your own conclusions...

The title is longer actually, but it didn't fit in the subject bar: "We learn who we are when our lovers are asleep".

Orlando takes Viggo's random musings too seriously, but Elijah puts it straight again.

Oh my, I'm always so afraid of ruining things with my rec, when I read something beautiful like this. There, I've already gone wrong...

I'll just repeat my last sentence from my feedback to her: I'm a sighing, smiling, wibbling, happy mess I am.

Ouch! This is a difficult rec! To be honest, I almost gave up on it, because the subject bar alone was giving me headaches (well ok, not literally...)

This is a fic by [livejournal.com profile] w_boyd and [livejournal.com profile] here_boy that's part of a RPG in [livejournal.com profile] lotr_speakeasy. All the basic information (timelines, who is who and where to leave feedback) can be found in the user info of the community.

This fic can easily be read as a stand-alone. It's Billy and Sean Astin. Billy is the experienced man, Sean is a young guy, exploring his sexuality. This is his first time, and Billy is good and gentle.

It's not necessary to read all this back ground stuff, but after I read the fic I got curious and looked it up, so that's why I put some here.

Basically it's a wonderfully warm and erotic fic and I'm so glad [livejournal.com profile] strawberryelfsp pointed it out!
