Fic rec: 'The Lantern-bearer' by valderys, Merlin/Arthur, PG

The latest 'Merlin' episode 'The Gates of Avalon' left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied on Merlin's behalf, but this fic by valderys made it all better.

It's the kind of fic I love in the same way I love Merlin; the warmth, compassion, a dash of mischief, common sense and determined optimism that make every possible imperfection look perfectly fitting.
