The latest 'Merlin' episode 'The Gates of Avalon' left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied on Merlin's behalf, but this fic by [livejournal.com profile] valderys made it all better.

It's the kind of fic I love in the same way I love Merlin; the warmth, compassion, a dash of mischief, common sense and determined optimism that make every possible imperfection look perfectly fitting.

Also; look at the (one of four) Colin icons that [livejournal.com profile] jhava made!! *heartbubble*

I love all four icons! I saw you have an Alec/Seregil icon as well! Have you read all the Nightrunner books now? Which was/were your favourite(s)? What are your thoughts? Tell me! :D I love these books so much!! Have you thought about reading Lynn Flewelling's Tamír books as well? I've read them and loved them just as much as the Nightrunner books, though they are definely different - darker.

I think I've settled on the one I'm using here; I've uploaded all four, but keep picking this one :D

I'm now about 1/4 into the third book of the Nightrunner series, so I don't have a favorite yet. Now is not a good moment to read though, since I'm on a course of a couple of days for my work, which takes up some time and also leaves me too tired to read properly. And our youngest requires some guidance with school (he's doing fine now, but he was on the wrong track there for a bit). It'll get better in a couple of weeks again I'm sure, but I think I'm going to lay the book aside for that time and start reading again when I'm able to read more than a few pages at a time.

For now I'm catching up with Farscape episodes and falling in love with those characters more every time; never thought I'd feel attracted to a big blue female alien!

I've definitely planned on buying the Tamir books as well yeah, because I love her story-telling and her world-building, and there are so many characters in her books that are interesting for whatever reason, I'm sure those other books will be lovely reading too.

It's probably a good idea to lay the book aside for a while, until things settle down a bit. Book 3 has a lot of different characters and plotlines, and it's easy to lose track if you can't read regularly. I love all the Nightrunner books, but 'Stalking Darkness' is my favourite, because it's just SO good! The first half is great, with the intrigues and all the UST between Alec and Seregil, but then the story goes into a, ehm, stroomversnelling - can't think of the English word :) - and it just pulls you along, and it keeps on going and going, and you can hardly catch your breath. A-MA-ZING storytelling. 'Traitor's Moon' includes a new character I'm also very fond of, btw: Nyal. *sigh* What do you think of Thero?

A big blue female alien, eh? I've had some weird crushes myself, I must say. *g*

Ohh, yes, the Tamír books are also amazing. The characters are very compelling, and the way she builds the story and the plot, and everything, is really fantastic. I will not give anything away, but there is a really beautiful lovestory that stretches over all three of the books, which I know you will love, too. But all the other characters are just as interesting, even if they're not all good people. There is one character I particularly fell in love with, and I'm sure you'll know who it is when you read the books, but the main character is also someone you'll close in your heart forever. Well, I'll stop gushing now. :D
