Mine is horribly slow - it keeps going down to speed 0, and at best I had 4/5 kb/sec! I don't think I ever had such a slow download before! :( But maybe part of the problem is somewhere along the way - it may be different for you. Sin City started out real slow but then sped up a lot.
I'm not sure. Last night it went down quickly from 659 hours to 18 hours, but this morning it was up to 28 hours, and it's stayed there all day today. Much more people are on Sin City of course, so that's expected to go faster. I just checked and there were only 12 seeds for the torrent I'm using! Maybe others use different torrents, I don't know...
They should require everyone who downloads Sin City to get Purifiers as well. :) BTW, thanks for the link! I never would have thought to look for it. Woohoo, I'm up to .4%.
I'm still only on 13%, 140 hours to go *whines* Still, Sin City coming down faster than an acid junkie! *dances*
PS - Guess what I bought recently Dutch - THE GOOD SON! A very wee Elijah, and a very wee Macauley Culkin, in BATTLE OF THE CHILD STARS! Heehee, sho cuuuuute
Still so very many to get...I have an questionably strong desire to get drag!Elijah Huck Finn, lol. *checks Elijah's IMDb page* Eeeks, so many yet to get. Although, I gotta admit that the only person who I have more of than Elijah is Sean Bean, so he's doing pretty good in the Justin ranks. *slithers off to eBay to look for more bargains*
Erm...*checks* XviD. But I'm pretty new to bittorrent so I don't know what that means or anything. I just grabbed the only Sin City torrent I saw, from the same site as the Purifiers one.
XviD (a variation on Divx) requires both Divx and XviD compatability. There may also be an audio compatiblity issue (as audio for these formats can be encoded in a few different formats).
So the anwser is: it depends on which player you use.
Most PC users use Windows Media Player, which I believe can play them "out of the box." However, if it can't, there are plug-ins available.
If this is your prefered player, give it a try, then if it doesn't work, ask for advice about plug-ins.
Personally, I use Quicktime, my personal favorite player. (I did go out and get Divx, Xvid, and three audio components. Having installed those, I've never had any trouble playing a video torrent. Ever.)
I've personally never tried it, but I hear Quintessential is a high-compatibility player.
Mpeg is a highly compatible format. However, it's a bigger file size.
I won't leave my computer on while I'm at work, so I had to close it only a few hours after I'd finished. But once I'm home, I'll be seeding both it and Sin City again.
And yes, I was astonished at how few seeders there are.
With respect, depending on the configuration of client, Internet service, firewall, etc, not everyone who torrents the file will have access to all the peers or all the seeders that are actually there.
For example, I was not able to access or view Nuregwen at all during the time she was downloading and I am not able to do it now she is seeding.
I know you can't access them all, but do they not show up in the total count, either (not the number you're actually connected to, but the total)? I saw the number of seeders drop from 9 to 5 last night, and I can't recall ever seeing a number that low.
Simply put, no. The total is only the list of what you can see, not what is actually there.
When I said access, I didn't mean what you were actually downloading from. I meant that you could see, the total list. And it is just not an accurate representation of who is actually there.
I've very, very often seen numbers that low and lower. You must be torrenting only the most popular files in the world.
Oh yes, I've been torrenting less popular (or older) files also, but I saw so many people mentioning they were done downloading, and watching Purifiers already that it didn't justify just how few feeders there were, even if not all of them were showing. So I figured that either they were downloading somewhere else, or closed their window as soon as they had the file, not realizing they were making it more difficult for others to get theirs.
Most of the files I've torrented were older files, and just because I happened to want it at that time, doesn't mean other were getting it too, so it was logical not many people are torrenting that same file at the same time. But since we've started torrenting Purifiers with quite a lot of Dom fans all at the same time, I think it's indeed a bit weird to see such a small amount of seeders.
I realize you were addressing Lilith, but I thought I'd add my view on it too.
I don't know anything about these downloady deals and I'm on a rotten wireless network, but I use something called BitTornado, I've been downloading for about 5 minutes and I'm at 12%. I don't know if what you use influences the download, but this seems to be good stuff so far.
It goes up and down all the time. It's been at a download speed of 0-1 KiB/s for hours on end, but now it's up to 29 KiB/s (!!!!!!!!!). I'm at 85%, after almost 2 days of downloading...
My download crossed the finish line in 49 minutes 23 seconds. I'll leave the client open so that maybe whatever spirits in the wires made that happen will wander off to help someone else!

Oh well... it'll get there eventually. I hope.

Except for Brimstone, of course, which has had no seeders since like last November, so I'll never be able to get the damn files
