In case more people are having the same problem as me, you can try some of the helpful comments over here.

OR you can start on the torrent [livejournal.com profile] undone27 has put up:

http://torrentspy.com/download.asp?id=224667

It's an unpacked .avi version. I've started on that one too, in case I don't get the one I've got working in spite of all the good tips & info that have been provided *twitches at info-overload because I'm computer illiterate like that*

I am so far from understanding any of that stuff (torrents? seeds? wha-?)that I'm simply not attempting to download. I just don't get it. Plus there's hubby's adamant no-piracy stance, so, I guess that would pretty much count me out, anyway. :(

So far I've bought/watched every movie I've got a pirate version of, the moment it became available for me in the regular way. So I got pirate versions of 'Try seventeen', 'ESOTSM' and such, but bought the dvd's when they came out here. And I'm getting torrents of Lost, but I'm also watching the series now it's out on tv here. Of 'Try Seventeen' I was afraid I would never get a regular dvd. Of 'Lost' I have to watch the torrents if I want to watch it (somewhat) unspoiled. For 'ESOTSM' I was so pissed off that it came out here in the theatres after it came out on dvd in the US, that I almost didn't buy the regular dvd; I bought that one anyway because of the extra's.

I completely understand and sympatise with your hubby though! Piracy is fucking with my own job. Our movie theatre (as all theatres over here) are getting less and less public, because people just download. Only movies that specifically require big screen, draw a big audience (LOTR, HP and Star Wars). Most people download to get stuff cheap, so they won't have to go to a theatre, so they don't have to buy the dvd.

The internet is a blessing as well as a curse, as is the case with most of human inventions.

this is the first download I've ever done and I decided to order the DVD from amazon.de first. I don't like piracy either but let's say I gave in to the dark side very easily. Well, it was Dom...

Mind you, the instructions blew my mind.
