Hi! I'm back from my little holiday that was crammed with Disney and damn if I didn't enjoy it more than I expected. I'll bug you with more on that some time later.

I went through my friendslist quickly, printed some fics and new installments of series and I still owe some of you feedback for stuff I'd printed and read in the car. I don't know when I'll get around to that (reading, feedback & rec'ing) though, because the kids still have a day more off tomorrow, and we had some plans on spending that together.

I must say one thing: it's damn nice coming home to a pet that had obviously missed us. In our absence [livejournal.com profile] gayadi visited our house daily to take care of Gerrit, and she thinks he must have been a dog in a previous life. He certainly acts like one, begging for our attention, meowing, wanting to be picked up etc. After a bit we set the door ajar, because he loves to walk outside, but he kept running in to check if we were still all there and in the end the kids went outside with him, because he was so frustrated; he wanted to go out, but wanted to keep an eye on us too. In the course of the evening he's lain on all of our laps in turn, purring contentedly.

Was the weather nice for you? Did it cost loads for icecreams and stuff? And did you go on all the rides?

Your cat is so cute! Mine are like that, too :)

The weather was quite nice. We had some showers, but mostly when we were somewhere inside anyway. Everything is ridiculously expensive at the parc, so we've been very Dutch and bought an icecream each only twice and took along our own food and drinks (but really, for 5 people it's just too much money to buy there and now the kids are big enough to each take along a backpack with their own stuff, it wasn't too much trouble to take stuff along.) We went on as many rides as we could stuff in 2 days, which is quite some! Disney land resort & studios is huge; no way you can do everything in just two days!

I don't understand how cats aren't supposed to get attached to a person; our cat obviously adores us; the feeling is very mutual :D

Your kitty's name is Gerrit! How sweet. I knew a person by that name once, but never a cat.

It's the Dutch name for Gary, Spongebob's snail. :)

And we both were internet-less... *shivers*

That pic of Dom comes from my own camera, when I was at C4, so it's extra special to me. I still haven't figured out who actually took the picture though, [livejournal.com profile] loreley_se or me, because we switched cameras a couple of times. Yeah well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but I kind of forgot why we did that...

Since we've had my Dom icon and your Billy, I think it's Elijah's turn now.

it's such a dom. you met him? i can't imagine. not sure i'd want to, personally, because it would be too weird, and i'd only mumble and be embarrassed later. but i'm glad you got to! oh lookit his hair...

hello, elijah, you little scrumpy.

Hee! Yeah, I'm back, and won't be gone for another week or so. Next weekend we'll have the anual family gathering with the in-laws (Friday-Monday). We're all looking forward to that very much! I'll have to record Elijah on MTV though, because I'm not going to have the in-laws snickering while I drool over him! The biggest problem will be to keep my weight during those days, because there's always lots to eat and lots to drink...

Oh, but you could try and convert your mother-in-law to the Elijah love ;-) Are they going to be at your place?

No, it's the yearly family reunion we have somewhere halfway where everybody lives. My parents-in-law rent the same house every year, a very big one, with a huge garden from which you can walk straight into the forest (or whatever passes for a 'forest' over here in The Netherlands...) We'll be there with 10 adults and 11 kids between (almost) 2 to 16 years old. It's going to be great! It always is. We're going to eat a lot and drink more. I'm going to go shopping with my three sisters in law. Lots of talking and laughing. Maybe play a few card and/or board games while the kids amuse each other and themselves :D

But yeah, it's not the kind of weekend to go drool over Elijah: I'd never hear the end of it!
