Tonight I'm working, and tomorrow I'm going to spend on preparing for a long weekend Ringcon. I'm leaving Friday morning verrrry early and won't be home until Monday afternoon, and I don't want Mr. D_E and the kids with an empty fridge and a lot of dirty laundry of course.

Now I'd like to print some fics to take along, especially because when I'm traveling back, I'll have a 6 hour train trip all by my lonesome. I've already selected a couple of my favorites, lovingly rumpled from previous readings. I've printed [livejournal.com profile] princessofg's latest Sentinel and SG-1 fics.

Anyone got any recs? Preferably Jack/Daniel and/or John/Rodney?

I don't have recs so much as a reccer, but you already know what I'm going to tell you. I've viewed SG-1 through Princess' recs, and have not ever been disappointed. So I'd print a passel of her recs, I think.

Some of those rumpled pre-loved fics I'm taking along, were recs from her, so yeah, I'm definitely doing that! It was she who got me into the Sentinel and the SG-1 fandom in the first place, through her recs and her fics, because I only started watching those shows after I'd read the fics :D

I have some of my favorite SGA fics here (http://del.icio.us/zoniduck/favorite%2BSGA), if you'd like to take a look. They're pretty much all John/Rodney.

I'd love to take a look, but the link don't work! I've just looked in your journal, but there's no del.icio.us link there, is there?

Well, that's incredibly annoying, isn't it?! I have no idea why that link wouldn't work. I'm zoniduck on del.icio.us (http://del.icio.us/zoniduck), and you can find the stories I tried to link to by selecting 'favorite' + 'SGA'

This link wouldn't work for me either yesterday, so I thought I'd just wait and see. Now this morning I try and both links work fine, so I guess it was just del.icio.us being wonky (or my computer and them not getting along initially or something).

The first fic that turned up was the Bell Curve series, which I'd printed yesterday after [livejournal.com profile] green_grrl rec'ed it too, so that's gotta be a good one! I've printed 'Second skin', because I've been meaning to read some SGA by [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy and I'll be sure to check your list more thoroughly when I get home. Thanks!

Whoa boy do I know where your recs are! I think I've pretty much worked my way through most of them... When you say you could rec me something, do you mean rec something specific from your existing list, or something that isn't there (yet)? I'm always interested in something long and sweet when it comes to John and Rodney! Or long and hot, or long and snarky. Or something that starts out snarky and goes from hot to sweet. Or... Well, I think you get the idea...

I've just read a couple of the 'other pairing' recs and these were great too; especially the Cam/John and the Keras/John (sorta) ones. I'd read everything Cadman/McKay already, because mroaw!! Oh, and I've got printed but not yet read Rodney/Sam/John; I'm curious about that one!

Anyway, still loving your recs muchly, and if you happen to have a rec that's not up your list yet, I'm seriously interested!!

I was going to say mostly from my rec list. XD

There are fics I have to add to the rec post: Liberty (http://yin-again.livejournal.com/321827.html) (McShep, 4 parts, really hot) A Question of Perspective (http://eretria.livejournal.com/384757.html) (McKay/Carter, massages, and omg, hot)

I haven't read this yet, but I'm confident in anything [livejournal.com profile] eleveninches puts out: The Roads Never Lead Where They're Supposed To Go (http://dejabu.robot-army.org/sgaroads.html)

Have fund reading. :D

Oi! I always said when I leave LJ for good my closing line is going to be "goodbye and thanks for all the fics"... Okay, I probably never told anyone that and I guess this just means great minds think alike. But I may still have to spank you on Friday. In fact, I mean to... ;) x

*wish I had a Hitch Hikers icon. Kewtie will have to suffice as the nearest thing*

All of my really long J/D recs are here (http://green-grrl.livejournal.com/18738.html). I consider Anais's Dr. Jackson's Diary (now with new chapters OMG!), Dianann and Kelex's Hammurabi's Code and Keiko Kirin's Steak Series to be the must-reads of the fandom. Betacandy's You Can't Always Get What You Want is absolutely brilliant, and even though gen, sneaks in a little J/D flavor. Kres's Pick Up Here series is stunningly gorgeous, and a head fuck. Biblio's Fidelity and CK's fics are favorites I love rereading.

There are lots of good long J/R fics, but most are angsty. For fun/romance, Shalott's A Beautiful Lifetime Event (SGA fic recs (http://green-grrl.livejournal.com/26647.html)) and Pru's Bell Curve or Ladies' Night at the Boom Boom Room (SGA AU fic recs (http://green-grrl.livejournal.com/26647.html)) are the classics. Skoosie's Furry Octopus duo is another too-cute favorite, as is Cate's A Farm in Iowa. Also? I love Danver's SG-15 series like woah -- John and Rodney at the SGC! Dave Dixon! Martouf!

Whoa! Lots of things to check out. What to pick for now? You know, I don't think I've read any real SGA AU yet, so this might be a good time to start. 'Bell Curve, or, Ladies Night at the Boom Boom Room' sounds like my kind of fic, and it's nicely long, so I'll take that one.

Ah, 'The Steak Series' and 'A beautiful lifetime event'... those are two of those rumpled fics that I already picked to take along. And I'm putting those entries in my memories to dig through more thorougly later!

Yay for rumpled favorites! And Bell Curve is fun!

Though really, if you want to grin like an idiot, laugh out loud, spit your drink and get hauled off the train by men in white coats, take SG-15, too. ;-)

Have a great trip!

Yeah, yeah, yayaYA!! (channeling Mitchell here) You've all made your point: I'LL READ IT *G*!!!

(On a sidenote: I've only just started with season 5 of SG-1, but I've watched the 200th episode, and a few days ago I watched 'The Pegasus Project' A couple of things:
1) What a delightful episode!!!! I've watched it 2 more times after my first viewing *loves*
2) What's that with me falling for Cameron Mitchell when he's so not my kind of guy?!
3) Also, Cameron/John, whoa *sizzle*

I pretty much agree with all your points about the episode. XD I really want/need to find more Cameron/John fics, because yes with the HOT. I kept wishing they'd had more screentime together. They're both flyboys and huge dorks, it'd be awesome.
