So long, and thanks for all the fic

Tonight I'm working, and tomorrow I'm going to spend on preparing for a long weekend Ringcon. I'm leaving Friday morning verrrry early and won't be home until Monday afternoon, and I don't want Mr. D_E and the kids with an empty fridge and a lot of dirty laundry of course.
Now I'd like to print some fics to take along, especially because when I'm traveling back, I'll have a 6 hour train trip all by my lonesome. I've already selected a couple of my favorites, lovingly rumpled from previous readings. I've printed
princessofg's latest Sentinel and SG-1 fics.
Anyone got any recs? Preferably Jack/Daniel and/or John/Rodney?

Date: 2006-11-08 05:27 pm (UTC)I've just read a couple of the 'other pairing' recs and these were great too; especially the Cam/John and the Keras/John (sorta) ones. I'd read everything Cadman/McKay already, because mroaw!! Oh, and I've got printed but not yet read Rodney/Sam/John; I'm curious about that one!
Anyway, still loving your recs muchly, and if you happen to have a rec that's not up your list yet, I'm seriously interested!!

Date: 2006-11-09 07:45 am (UTC)There are fics I have to add to the rec post: Liberty (http://yin-again.livejournal.com/321827.html) (McShep, 4 parts, really hot) A Question of Perspective (http://eretria.livejournal.com/384757.html) (McKay/Carter, massages, and omg, hot)
I haven't read this yet, but I'm confident in anything
Have fund reading. :D

Date: 2006-11-08 08:17 pm (UTC)There are lots of good long J/R fics, but most are angsty. For fun/romance, Shalott's A Beautiful Lifetime Event (SGA fic recs (http://green-grrl.livejournal.com/26647.html)) and Pru's Bell Curve or Ladies' Night at the Boom Boom Room (SGA AU fic recs (http://green-grrl.livejournal.com/26647.html)) are the classics. Skoosie's Furry Octopus duo is another too-cute favorite, as is Cate's A Farm in Iowa. Also? I love Danver's SG-15 series like woah -- John and Rodney at the SGC! Dave Dixon! Martouf!

Date: 2006-11-08 10:39 pm (UTC)Ah, 'The Steak Series' and 'A beautiful lifetime event'... those are two of those rumpled fics that I already picked to take along. And I'm putting those entries in my memories to dig through more thorougly later!

Date: 2006-11-08 11:25 pm (UTC)Though really, if you want to grin like an idiot, laugh out loud, spit your drink and get hauled off the train by men in white coats, take SG-15, too. ;-)
Have a great trip!

Date: 2006-11-09 09:45 am (UTC)(On a sidenote: I've only just started with season 5 of SG-1, but I've watched the 200th episode, and a few days ago I watched 'The Pegasus Project' A couple of things:
1) What a delightful episode!!!! I've watched it 2 more times after my first viewing *loves*
2) What's that with me falling for Cameron Mitchell when he's so not my kind of guy?!
3) Also, Cameron/John, whoa *sizzle*
