Oh my GOD, LJ is driving me up the WALL with how slow it is lately!! I'm trying to reply to the comments I've had in my journal lately, and it goes like this:

read comment
click reply
wait forever to get the page to load
write reply
click preview & check spelling
wait forever to get the page to load
check and correct
click post comment
wait forever to get the page to load
rinse repeat.

And that's an easy one. For some replies I want to check back into another specific post/journal/fic/whatever and I have to wait for every page to take endlessly to load even if I'm not interested in that particular page, but I just need it to get from one link to another, because links don't work until the page has come to a 'full and complete stop' [/gratuitous Sheppard quote].

So basically I'm spending most of my time waiting, while gnashing my teeth and muttering 'hurry up you mofo' under my breath.

I wish I had yours! Mine keeps telling me the comments I reply to don't exist, again and again. And my flist posts keep disappearing. Joy.

Oh, I've never gotten the one where lj claims the comment I'm replying to doesn't exist! But yeah, I know all about flist posts disappearing and/or not appearing at all, which is also damn annoying. I really wish lj would work out the old kinks before introducing new goodies no one is waiting for. I mean, what's this whole block of info that pops up when you hover over the little lj-icon that goes with each name and the userpics?! When I'm trying to read the comments to someone's post, I don't want to have to carefully maneuver my cursor over the page because these blocks keep blocking the text I'm reading *waves fist*

Oh that you can turn off in your settings, I've had most stuff disabled and forgot that even exists. I looked it up for you - uncheck the relevant boxes at http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

I've adjusted my settings a couple of times (in fact, almost every time lj thinks it necessary to force some new gadget on us, I just change it back to the way it was before) but I'd never noticed that option! It's turned off now *parties* Thanks!!

Is it doing that to you as well? I thought it was my computer that was up the spout and I've had The Husband doing checks on it for the last few days.

It's really lj that's being so slow, because I don't have a problem with loading of pages on the other sites I go to frequently }:(

I'm not having all of the problems you're having, but when I comment, half the time the comment just disappears or won't post and then I have to write it over. Even when it does post the comment, it takes a long time for it to accept it. I hope they get it fixed soon.

Huh, yeah, I've had that happen a couple of times. LJ tells me it can't post my comment because I've done something wrong, I go back, don't change a thing, try again, and it posts fine. *rolls eyes*
