I would actually love that. Last time when you were in The Netherlands it was during our anual family(-in-law) weekend, and I couldn't get away then, but usually I can get away for a bit during any given set of days and I should be able to come to just about anywhere in The Netherlands; it's such a small country and I happen to live smack in the middle of it, never far from anything :D

It's funny really because I'm following David Hewlett's adventures in making a movie; all the preparations, the making itself, but also the whole thing of finding a distributor, and it's fun that he shares so much of his excitement and anxiety. A lot of fans are getting impatient every time a next step has been announced and then it takes forever to know about the details of the deal. Every time that happens I have think of 'Hard Core Roadshow', because now that was excrutinating. What a lot of setbacks, what an endurance one must have to go that road. Noel's frustration was palpable often, and he was quite merciless in describing everything of the process, some of ugly sides of the business. I can't believe anyone would go through with this! I admire screenwriters, directors, actors and everyone involved in making movies even more; I would have given up long before the end. Especially since it involves so much emotional investment; to see people want to take your baby apart to adjust it to what suits them, having to fight for the things you absolutely want to get done a certain way...

And well, the little sneak peeks we get of the actors, especially the relation between Hugh and Callum, that's really something else... It's fascinating reading about the immediate click between these two, which worked fantastic for the movie. It looks like something special was going on between them. I love that I got everything from the movie that was put into it. I'd expected something completely different from the things I'd read in people's journals, and I thought maybe I wasn't getting something. Are you able to play the clips at YouTube? If so, I recommend watching this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cujn95X4j2A), which is a HCL vid set to a song by the Dandy Warhols. It has that bittersweet, violent yet moving feeling that the movie gave me. At least, I loved the video.
