An icon keeps popping up on my friendslist, a scene from 'Rising' of Carson beaming at his mom's dinner table, and over the last week I keep realizing there will be no more Carson rushing into the gate-room when injured people come in from off-world missions, he's not there anymore to call Teyla love, he's not around to point out to Rodney he could try and be a bit nicer to people, no more Carson choking up on behalf of the rest of the team. Somehow, when things went horribly wrong, and people got hurt, the minute he came in, or just the knowledge he would get to his patient soon, was enough to feel relieved and have hope it would be all right; he'd fix them.

I'm going to miss him, and frankly it surprises me a little, because I haven't been much of a Carson fan, but I wanted to take this moment to acknowledge it. Which is silly, because he's just a character in a tv-series.

Still...

*mourns a little*

Yup. That's pretty much what made me cry the other day; realizing the finality of Carson's death. Just.... WAH :( :( :(

That said, I had to upload this humorous Carson icon, just to pick my spirits up a bit when I think about him :D.

It didn't hit me, at first. People around me were upset, and I couldn't understand. I tend to have a delayed emotional reaction to danger and death. And, even though he's just a character, it is a death. Someone we count on who's taken away from us. I still think they did the end of the episode wrong. A wake would have sat better than a sterile coffin scene.

I'd heard the rumour but forgotten about it, so I had no idea what would happen when I was watching Sunday. When Rodney was in Carson's room collecting his things I still thought it would turn out that they were fooling the viewer! I'm still surprised and don't know how this is going to feel later.

oh, how I cried! Unfortunately I was spoiled (it was vid summary on atlantis_vid that spoiled me, boo hoo), so after a while into the episode, it was pretty clear, when it would happen. Luckily he managed to save that patient, I did not expect that. He did not save many people as Daniel did, but somehow I find it to be even more heroic!

I loved Carson, I will miss him... :,(
