No particular reason, that's the weird thing! I was shopping for completely different stuff (birthdays of 4 nieces and nephews and 2 sons are coming up) when I saw this skirt I really liked in the window of a shop. Usually that means it a) is too expensive, b) is not in my size or c) looks great on the doll but weird on me. But it was on sale, they had it in my size and it fit me like it was made for me.
I'm very much a jeans & cargo pants with sports shoes or sneakers type of person. The last time I bought a skirt was over 13 years ago for a wedding, and I hardly ever wore it.
but, but, but... that's exactly what it looks like!
I'll try: slim fitting from the waist down, and fanning out from the hips to slightly below the knee, so it swooshes nicely around the legs when you walk (and makes it possible to walk with big strides, so I won't have to make lady-steps). It's dark blue/white, in a fantasy, flowery pattern.
It sounds very nice. Is it a more formal kind of skirt, or can you wear it any time? There are very nice, not too formal shoes these days that go great with skirts. If it's the right kind of skirt, you can even wear flip-flops with it, or sandals.
As for me, I own one skirt, but it's more for winter. I own a (summer)dress as well, but I hardly ever wear either of them. When I was younger, and thinner, I really liked to wear skirts. I even wore rather short skirts, in the late 80s. ;)
I actually have shorts that show more leg. Although, I could make it so this skirt shows even more... (my daughter already warned me about wearing it on a bike)

Date: 2007-06-26 02:46 pm (UTC)Honestly, I almost never wear skirts anymore, only pants. It's so much easier to wear pants.
