I watched (most of) those YouTube clips of Elijah on the Friday Night Project.

Dammit Elijah; I know you still must have talent somewhere, and this is what you do with it?

That was rehashing rehash. He was giggling at stuff he couldn't possibly find amusing. Putting on a wig isn't instant comedy. Making adolescent fun of Sam and Frodo suffering at Mount Doom has been done to death and it wasn't even funny to begin with. I wasn't even bored, I was irritated and wanting to kick his butt saying 'This is not how your mother raised you!' I found Kelly Osbourne more charming than Elijah.

I think I'm spoiled by fangirling hardworking men lately.

*cough* ok. Better now. Or actually, no... *fumes*

I think the fact it was LOTR based annoyed me from the start - how old is that? And they are usually so merciless with their special guests, and yet nothing seemed to click with him - it just felt very staged, especially when compared to a lot of the other shows I've seen.

i couldn't even finishing watching any one of those clips, though i tried, several times. it's like. he doesn't even think he has to put effort in. he's acting by rote these days, even when he's in a fucking movie. it seems all he cares about is music. oh well.

How is that working for him? I haven't kept track of him much lately, so I could be missing something here, but I don't get the impression much is happening concerning his label (that has become part of a bigger label, isn't it?)

i don't really know. but i am sure he was on friday night project just get is band on there. it seems like helloise might be doing okay. but i really don't know.

i am not savvy when it comes to that. don't have any understanding of what doing well in the music industry means. whereas i have some familiarity with the film industry, simply by having an interest. in film you're basically doing good if you're getting any jobs and if people know who you are. but i don't know if it's the same for music. if so, than he's doing okay. but not great in either fields (of late).

Those hardworking men keep you busy too, with all the touring! I was sorely tempted to go to the Thistle hotel on June 28th, for David and Kate Hewlett, but I figured I've already seen them, which was a lovely experience, so I better leave well enough alone. Besides, it's the oldest son's birthday. Must keep in mind I'm a mom too...

In this case, Elijah wasn't able to overcome the material he was given. Is Friday Night Project a popular show? Because I found it childish and not at all funny. It reminded me of our Saturday Night Live, only much less original. And the host with the glasses, Allan was it? God, he was annoying.

I haven't seen the show before, so I can't really tell. All I know is I've seen Alan Carr as a guest on Jonathan Ross and I wasn't very impressed. I thought that on FNP both hosts were annoying by the way.

I have to agree with all the above...

I found it rather gratuitous and tasteless. But he looked like he was having fun and he probably giggled all the way to the bank...

I get the impression he's doing that a lot lately.

I agree. There were some good laughs, but mostly it was very much on the cheesy side. There are better shows he could have done, imo.

I think he should start doing something more interesting so he's got something to talk about on any show.

Oh well, maybe I'm just not a fan anymore.

It's a lame program with stupid jokes, Alan Carr is irritating, and when I started watching the Elijah episode and they started to talk about LOTR I switched off. Don't want to hear the tattoo story again, sorry...

Oh but he showed the tattoo! And did the Puppetmaster dance! And told us all about those nasty manips he found on the internet!

You don't know what you missed.

I did see the bit about the manips and switched off when they started talking about the tattoo....

Sad, sad, sad.

I think it's almost time for an intervention... Maybe if he is forcibly (but kindly) removed from all this music silliness (and its 'accoutrements' if you know what I mean and I think you all do)he'll find that he misses doing what he does best and get to it before it's not what he does best anymore.

I'm totally ok with him being involved in the music business, just not this half-assed out-of-control hobby that's not really professional either. He's starting to act too much like any other celebrity with too much money and time on their hands to actually work for it anymore!
