I love the movie! I rewatched it a few weeks ago. Though thank god some of the cheesy science they used was retconned in the series. (Abydos on the far side of the universe?)
I guess I rewatch the movie with my J/D goggles firmly on, because I see their relationship shift the moment they get through the wormhole, and the connection happen when Daniel comes back from the dead and he and Jack see each other on the pyramid steps. Though of course I think Daniel's completely taken with Sha'uri as well. Who is also awesomesauce.
