Merlin

'Be resigned' by [livejournal.com profile] franticsga (AU, Arthur/Merlin, PG, pre-slash, WIP) has been updated with part 4 and part 5
More about this series here. Since it's set in the US army in our time, some recent events are touched upon. Nothing too up close and personal though. It's still mostly a story about Arthur, Merlin and their growing friendship-with-maybe-more, and that's a sweet process.

'Ownership' by [livejournal.com profile] phantomjam (Arthur/Merlin, R)
I'm not usually a fan of claiming, but in this case it works on a very satisfying level. There's a certain intimacy about sharing a secret, which I can see here.

'Drastically redefining protocol' by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock (AU, Arthur/Merlin, NC-17, WIP)has been updated with part 8.
More about this here and here.
Reality kicks in with press releases and paparazzi and a not amused dad who happens to be a king. The press releases are hilarious, and then she manages to throw in some moments that are actually moving too. Huh.

Untitled start of a possible WIP by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock (AU, Mpreg, Lancelot/Merlin past, Arthur/Merlin pre-slash, R, WIP)
This fic reads like watching West Wing; fast paced, characters that are immediately interesting and quick witted dialog. I sure hope she'll write more in this universe!

'Special day' by [livejournal.com profile] rainchild_ai (Arthur/Morgana, Arthur/Merlin, PG-13)
A twist on the Arthur-saga. Intense and moving. A moment between Morgana and Merlin, in which each wishes for what the other has, but without resenting the other for it.

'MERLIN' by [livejournal.com profile] moonythestrals (AU, basically Arthur/Merlin, R)
Geekboy!Merlin meets fratboy!Arthur. Crack ensues. And I mean, tears running down my cheeks from laughing kind of crack. With the occasional n'aw thrown in.
For a writing seminar they need to write a script. Arthur has some ideas, Merlin reluctantly goes along, and Professor Hurt guides their project with cryptic pointers.

'A random collection of firsts' by [livejournal.com profile] moonythestrals (AU, Arthur/Merlin, Gwen/Morgana, NC-17)
Written in the fratboy!arthur universe, which is really something you need after you've finished 'MERLIN', because it's hard to say goodbye to them.

'Buggre Alle This' by [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis (Arthur/Merlin, PG-13 for the main story, NC-17 for the coda)
Merlin and Arthur switch bodies through a spell thrown by Nimueh. This way they find out a lot about the other and incidentally also about themselves. Funny, with some thinky thoughts. And I'm very happy about the coda because by the end I could use some of that. As did they for that matter.

Merlin vids

'Something in the wild' by [livejournal.com profile] nel_ani (Arthur/Morgana unrequited, Arthur/Merlin)
Absolutely beautiful editing, which made me sit down and really look at Morgana and realize I want more of her. It leaves me with tears in my eyes every time I watch it.

'Insatiable' by Solanyxe (Arthur/Merlin, PG-13)
Ahahahaha!! Oh lord, this vid made me snort and giggle; edited with just original material and still it makes it look like PG-13 rated for sexual content :D

Colin Morgan

Over here at White Noise Studios you can find a short film called 'The Studio'. It's some film academy students style movie, that's mostly interesting because Colin Morgan is in it, using his own accent, smoking and being all pimply and young :D
Someone has also posted it at YouTube: part 1 and part 2.

And here's a little Tailormade Productions clip on the casting for 'The Sea Change'. Some blink-and-you-miss-it shot of Colin in the first 30 seconds.

Bradley James

Over here you can find a clip and some screencaps from a short movie that Bradley James was in.

SG-1

'Downhill from here' by [livejournal.com profile] wisdomeagle (Daniel/Jack, NC-17)
Daniel and Jack over the years. Their relationship, what they've been through, together and individually, how they've grown and changed. All written in a crisp, down to earth, realistic style that's somehow more romantic to me than anything that's meant to be romantic.

'A walk in the snow' by [livejournal.com profile] princessofg (Daniel/Jack, NC-17)
A warm, warm story. It's like watching Daniel through Jack's eyes; indulgent, amused, understanding and with more patience than a casual observer would guess Jack can muster. Daniel, with his tendency to over-think, his need to speak his mind. Two warm men in a leisurely paced fic and sex to go with that.

SGA

'Searching' and 'Found' by [livejournal.com profile] linabean
Everyone has already read and linked these poems that are inspired by all the entries over at [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders, but I thought I'd rec them anyway because they're amusing for anyone who's familiar with fic finding communities in any fandom.

'A boyfriend for christmas' by [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore (AU, John/Rodney, Rodney/OMC, NC-17)
I have a thing for stories where Rodney finds someone interesting who loves him the way he is, when he's already given up hope. And I love John looking right through the arrogant and tough outside, seeing the arrogant and warm inside. Plus of course John and Rodney have fantastic sex, duh...

Harry Potter

'The moon's significant tremble' by [livejournal.com profile] setissma (AU, Remus/Sirius, NC-17)
Frankly, this is so AU, I don't even recognize Remus and Sirius so much. But this story of soul-mates finding each other is absolutely lovely; an accidental meeting, immediately click, a second accidental meeting, slowly growing friendship, tentative first steps towards more and the delight when everything falls into place. I did a lot of happy sighing while reading this.

I'm glad you're reccing things again. Yeah, I know you've been doing it for a while, but I never said anything so far. It's really something you enjoy and which you're good at, so YAY! \o/

Yeah, I'm glad I got into the routine again, because I really missed it :D

It sort of got back into the habit once I started giving feedback again. I'm still slacking a bit on that (the feedback), but I'm trying to do better.

I'm sure you'll get there again.

BTW, I just saw this R/S rec (http://xylodemon.livejournal.com/422332.html) on my flist, and I thought I'd pass it on to you. I haven't read it myself, but it looks good.

ETA, This comes highly recommended as well: part 1 (http://regan-v.insanejournal.com/62217.html) and part 2 (http://regan-v.insanejournal.com/62579.html).

This one (http://community.livejournal.com/hp_darkfest/13968.html), by an author I know pretty well, is recced a lot as well, but there are warnings, so you better read those first. Still, someone (whom I also knoow) in the comments writes it's 'funny, moving and tragic.'

The HP characters lj's is fun. I don't think I'll try that last fic, because it has too many characters and I'm not so interested in that era (does that still count as marauders, or are they too old for that in this fic?), at least not enough for such a long fic.

But I love the first one! Also Sirius and Remus younger, but well... it's really about them and not so much the history and people around them, if you see what I mean. Thanks for that link, because I highly doubt I would have found it myself.
