I was right in the middle of commenting and replying when the mail arrived and this dropped on my doormat...

*logs off and goes to watch Colin's video diary*

You ordered them from Amazon UK too? I'm pretty pleased with how soon the set arrived, seeing as it released on Monday :D

Yep. :D The first box also arrived three days after I ordered it. Ironically, only the extras will play on my computer - it seems to hate the actual episodes! But the extras were pretty adorable - Bradley commenting on Colin's cheekbones totally cracked me up. :o)

Oh, that's annoying... Have you tried using another player? I can play my dvd's with WMP and VLC. I love VLC; it'll play anything!

And yeah, the cheekbones comment (http://rodneyscat.livejournal.com/691859.html) :D

WMP won't play dvds for me, so I always use VLC. I suppose it's actually some kind of problem with the dvd slot of my computer (it simply doesn't recognise the dvds), but it is kind of odd that it only seems to have trouble with the Merlin dvds. I did manage to get them to work (partially) after about 10 tries. They start skipping halfway through, but at least I managed to listen to the Moment of Truth commentary. Have you listened to it yet? It was totally adorable. :o)

Good chance it's a problem with the dvd slot yeah. I had the same problem with my cd-player that quite randomly played some cds effortlessly, and others kept skipping or not playing at all. Or they suddenly started playing after they'd been in there for half an hour or so when I'd almost forgotten about them. Once they'd played a first time, it would be less of a problem to play them again. I'll never figure these kinds of things out...

Yeah, I listened to 'The Moment of Truth' commentary, and loved it as much as everybody else! I especially loved the genuine laughter here and there and how sometimes they were very aware of us as audience and sometimes seemed to have forgotten all about us.

Mine's arrived as well.

And I've got a training session scheduled so I have to go to the gym first. *grumps*

Now that's true dedication; letting your exercises come between you and watching pretty boys flirt with each other.

You know, I totally blame Colin and Bradley for luring me back to the dark sparkly RPS side.

Yeah. And then I got to the gym and my trainer wasn't there and I realised that I must have gotten the day wrong. But I still did my exercise program while I was there anyway!!!

I don't know why but the Colin/Bradley RPS doesn't do much for me - and I've read a few now. I don't know if it's because I just can't see them do it, or because I don't like the characterisation that Bradley gets - Colin is always interesting but Bradley is mostly portrayed as a bit stupid or naive or prattish or silly...all of which he probably is in RL but not in my dreams!!!

I actually get the impression that Bradley is a damn nice guy. His jokes are a bit lame sometimes, but mostly in that way I recognize myself, when the really witty retort always comes a couple of minutes too late when the conversation has already moved on, you know? And I get the impression he's a decent guy, genuinely sensitive. The more I like him, the more I want fics to reflect that impression I'm getting of him, and in the two fics I rec in my next post I get that.

I specifically don't like the fics where Colin get pictured as sort of the opposite of the impression he gives. So he's a chainsmoking, cursing, very experienced guy who almost aggressively seduces Bradley after working himself through the whole cast and crew of Merlin.

Ok I'll have to check out those two fics then :-)

Well you are right of course. I don't think that kind of fic reflects Colin's personality at all.

It arrived way sooner than I expected! This afternoon I watched the extras with my daughter. It's stuff like this that helps me tide over until season 2 starts...
