I'm printing something loooooong and I've got this whole afternoon to read.
Promise me you won't laugh exasperated, but I haven't read 'Officer and Gentleman' by
kiltsandlollies yet.
Ok, are you done now?
I'd read some bits and pieces every now and then. Witnessed lots of squeeing, sighs, orgasms and weeping caused by this fic, but I'd never come around reading it. So I went to the place where she keeps her stuff. Did me some cutting and pasting to put everything in the right order in a word document and was pleased to note that there are 58 pages worth of fic I'll have the pleasure of reading.
*purrs*
Ah! Printer is done. Bye.

Date: 2004-01-18 09:29 am (UTC)Oh god, I've got it bad... Ever fallen in love with a fic? Well, it happens to me occasionally and it's happening to me now. It's indeed a lot to take in at one sitting, so I lay it down every now and then to let it sink in. But it's an amazing ride. I'm reading everything 'in the right order', so I've included the interludes at the right places.
I'm a little scared to read on now (I will though, nobody needs to encourage me to do that) because I feel such doom ahead, and I want to enjoy some scenes a bit longer. Checking back I notice I specifically love the interludes, and not so much for the smut, but for all the details and the way the characters are deepened (is that the right expression? You learn more about them, about what moves them, about their feelings and thoughts). That scene in which Dominic watches Billy sleep at his desk... *clenches*
I've got to go and work tonight, so I haven't finished reading yet, but I didn't want to rush through it. It's so worth taking my time for this!

Date: 2004-01-18 01:11 pm (UTC)Well I won´t laugh at you since I haven´t read it myself. You know how I have difficulties to get my head around DomBilly. Though I must say I am absolutely in love with "Defy the dark" but that is special in many ways.
