Back from Rock Werchter. Ears still ringing, completely tired but thoroughly satisfied and head over heels in love with Franz Ferdinand, Arsenal, Lamb, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, Daan, Thou and Franz Ferdinand.

Bought a Franz Ferdinand t-shirt that really needs a good washing now.

I'll check friendslist later after I've cleaned the tent etc.

If there's something you think I should know about, feel free to leave a comment.

You went to Rock Werchter? All rained out, I suppose?
The line-up was terrific. I thought about going but decided against it.
How was Metallica?
In the newspaper here (Gazet van Antwerpen), I read that Franz Ferdinand was fantastic! It got rave reviews.

Anyway, you'll find some great pictures from Elijah in the Karlovy Vary Film festival all over the place. You're in for a treat, discovering them all.

It wasn't that bad really, with the rain. A few short showers, which made the terrain rather muddy, but everything dried really fast and I had a good raincoat with me, so I was alright (I'm glad the tent proved to be waterproof though!

I haven't seen Metallica because that's not really my kind of music, but I heard from others they did an excellent job as could be expected from such veterans.

I wasn't the only one raving about Franz Ferdinand! I've seen some enthusiastic reviews, the public went nuts and is was so cute how surprised and pleased they looked at the success they were having! I was also happy that the three songs they played that weren't on their album sounded just as fresh and catchy as the rest. They're a happy, feel-good group that really sparkle. *cough* [/fangirl mode]

I haven't gotten far on my friendslist yet, but I've seen some caps of Elijah looking completely gorgeous with black hair on some foreign looking event, so I suppose that's what you're talking about.

Thanks for your comment anonymous!

When have you been there! I think I've seen C_C on Thursday afternoon, walking on the camping (A1 I think it was), could that be right? The food was rather nice actually I think. I've mostly lived on Mexican wraps (yummee!) and I've lost 2 kg's (due to lack of sleep and lots of jumping around no doubt :D)

Ah yeah, Muse... They did an almost exact copy of the show I've seen last November though, I was kind of hoping they'd have changed it around a bit, there's not much room for improvising obviously. But it was great anyway and they played a couple of my favorite songs.

I managed not to spend too much money *taps self on shoulder* and only bought the one t-shirt.

I've been there for three days, since Friday. Laura was on camping A2, I think, but I'm not sure as [livejournal.com profile] odella and me slept at my aunt's. But GOD those Mexican wraps were good. I was quite surprised that the food was so decent. Had some very nice kebab, also :)

I'd never seen Muse in concert before, and I'm quite emotionally attached to their music, so they rocked my socks Saturday. Although I must confess Placebo was even better.

I'm sorry I didn't see you (or maybe I did, but how would I have recognized you?), it would've been fun to meet you.

Yes! LOL, I left you a reply because I haven't slept all f*cking night. I'm not leaving at the same time as you are on vacation, and I'll definitly be gone two weeks. With the way we're trying to schedual it, I think we'll have at least a 5-7 day window, depending. Let me know what you think of this in my LJ and I'll try and keep ya updated. :)

Yes, I do like your taste in music....

Real nice line up there, glad you had a good time. I've not heard Franz live, except on an internet radio broadcast from when they first started out. At the time their performances still needed some polish.

I'm glad to hear that they've tightened up their live show and got a warm reception!

Hey, did you ever get around to buying that latest Gomez cd? (I'm not checking just interested!)

Oh Yeah!

Aw, Wilco was at Werchter too, but performed at the same time as PJ Harvey and I went to see her... I was very curious about Wilco, certainly because a lot of artists mentioned the group as being something they wanted to see themselves, but I'd never heard of them before. I'm downloading at this very moment though!

OMG. Franz. Gorgeous, lovely men. Gorgeous, lovely music. I have a scad of bootlegs and rare tracks if you're interested. Also, one of the only bands that I actually charmed the roadies into giving me a set list for AND waited to get pictures with them after the show. They were the nicest, most lovely guys evah.

And this icon is Nick, *squeezles*!

G'to know you had a great time!! any pictures?

talking about Franz Ferdinand, they've just shot the video new single 'Michael' in Berlin with a cameo appearance by their friend - the Michael who inspired the song... Now that sounds exciting. I'm up for Alex/Michael slash. Oh yes I am. hehe

No, I didn't take pictures myself, but there are some very good ones at the Werchter site (I was expecting that, so that's why I didn't bother trying to take pics myself; I rather just enjoy the show instead of fumbling around with a camera!)
