To make a long story short: [livejournal.com profile] evyg was looking for that fic, [livejournal.com profile] kiltsandlollies found it for her and I'd never read it before.

I repeat: I'd never read it before.

A fic by Cimorene.

And this right in the middle of me rereading "Delirium".

I've read it once now and I'm going to read it again.

I believe that was the first Dom/Billy I ever read, back when it was just getting started. Still one of my faves!

Cimorene's Tennessee was the first slashfic I ever read, with Delirium right after. I can't believe Fantasy has been there all the time without me knowing about it...

One of my firsts too. I printed it out and read it in the bath one night and just askdjks. It's hot, of course, but there's so much more to it than that. It has moments of incredible softness, good dialogue, excellent description and oh the gentle hand over the mouth and the shhing everything else I adore in a slow, perfect Billy/Dominic.

*happy sigh*

exactly the things I love about all Cimorene's fics. Plus she's got her own, very recognizable style and yet manages to give each character their own 'voice'. And the combination of gentleness/sweetness and lust/passion is delicious.

"Delirium" was one of the first stories I ever read in the RPS fandome and it blew me away. It made me realize that slash writing could be "real" writing.

It's a wonderful story, even if you've never heard of Elijah and Dom. To be honest, when I read 'Delirium' I hardly knew who Dominic was...

That story also was the first feedback I gave to a writer I didn't know from somewhere else.

Next you'll be telling us you've never read "Convergence" or "Sabotage". Makes me wonder what else is out there that's you've never read. :-)

Hey! I've read those two yeah?! I'm not a complete slash illiterate *grumbles*

Although I must say I kind of hope there are things like this I've missed, because I was going wide eyed and gasping when I saw the link to 'Fantasy'; I just knew I was going to love reading that fic.

But I am. Links, PLEASE?

I discovered [livejournal.com profile] abundantlyqueer and have been loving slash ever since, but my horizons could definitely be broader.

Thanks for helping a poor slash newbie.

"Sabotage" (http://yearningvoid.net/calico/sabotage2.html) is a fic by Calico. It's an orgy fic that's generally considered one of the hottest in lotrips history. It's so popular that I feel safe saying it did nothing for me (I don't usually say something like that, but I think the writer can handle an occasional non-enthusiastic reaction, should she ever read this), and it took me several tries reading. But I wanted to read it because it's a classic you know!

The Convergence series (http://www.dombillijah.com/users/convergence/) by [livejournal.com profile] shaenie is just as legendary. It was written out of order, and put in the right order again on this site (so you start with "Cusp" and leave "Conversation" for last. You can read "Convergence" first though, lots of people do. You can test if you like it and if you do you can read the complete series.
It starts Billy/Dom and becomes Billy/Dom/Elijah ("Convergence" is their first time as a threesome). I loved all these fics and had some trouble getting into "Catalyst" because it deals with D/s, bondage and SM in a way that I personally found disturbing because I was new to that all. I had a rather thorough discussion about it in my LJ with very insightful and interesting comments by people who explained a lot to me. I tried again and it's now definitely one of my all time favorite fics in this fandom.

Thank you so much for the heads up. I started reading West since AQ is writing part of it, so I already know that I like shaenie's writing. Woo hoo, I love having new fic to read!
Thanks!

Oh, that is so weird. The first LOTRPS I stumbled upon was cimorene, too. The woman should get some sort of award.
