We're experiencing an offical heatwave over here. I'm not even much of a housewife normally, but now it's bordering on disgusting. But really, just the thought of vacuuming...

I need to clean the bathroom badly. The beds need to be changed. And I'll have to get the clean & dry laundry (at least I keep doing that) folded and put in the wardrobes, but that involves climbing stairs!!!

I think I'm going to read instead.

Oh yes! Laundry! *adds to to-do list...then scratches it off and adds 'read slash' instead*

Heat is disgusting. I'm in favor of cancelling Summer as a season and just having Fall, Winter, and Spring.

As for canceling summer, I think they did that here. I haven't seen too much hot weather (not that I'm complaining too loudly) and it's been very wet this year. I don't mind the spring and fall, but I'd just as soon skip winter. Too much snow some years.

Ok. So that leaves us spring and autumn...

It's terrible, isn't it? I keep my balcony door open, which means my bedroom is about the coolest place in the house. So... yep, you got it: that's where I am most of the day. ;) But I don't think it's healthy to do a lot in this heat anyway.

Yeah, I keep telling myself I'm being lazy for my own good.

It's been raining but it's still no cooler. There was so much I meant to get done in the house in the last week, but I've done very little of it. It's too much effort in this heat.

They've been promising us rain for some days now: 'Monday, no Tuesday, Tuesday or Wednesday, after Wednesday it'll cool down...' I fear what they'll tell us tomorrow!

And it's not fair when it's raining and it's still no cooler! That's not the deal... *sets jaw*

It's pissing down now, which saves me the job of watering the garden, but the down side is the dog still expects his walk. And it's still hot.

Changing the beds... Yes I remember thinking I had to do that a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps I really should get round to it.

When it cools down a bit. :-)

With this heat it's easier to change the beds, because we all sleep under sheets now. No need to put duvets inside the covers, which is what I hate doing most (especially since we have a big duvet; 2.20 x 2.40).

I can't take the heat at all. Last year I went to NZ and Britain had temps of 100+. Back in NZ they had the warmest winter ever c65 degrees and I had a great time. THAT is a temperature I can deal with.
This year I come to Chicago. Britain now has a heatwave and my daughter talks of walking round naked because it is too hot for clothes. Meanwhile back in Chicago they say its been a cooler summer -temps mainly in the 80's with a breeze from the lake. Looks like I've missed the heat again -thank god.

I don't now how to translate those temps into the ones we measure with, but I get the idea.

Last year we went to France on holiday: never again!! We went to Denmark this year, and we could actually do things, like visit a castle or a village.
