MY KIDS ARE DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!
I want them all in school. Now. Holiday OVER.
Argh...
Youngest is at school now, but the other two won't have school until NEXT WEEK WEDNESDAY. By the time they'll go, my oldest will have had 9 1/2 weeks holiday O_O
He stays up late, gets up early, talks to me ALL FUCKING DAY. He can't do a bloody thing without wanting to TALK about it; what he sees on tv, what level he's on in some computer game, what he's reading in the newspaper/mag/book he's reading, what he's just done, what he plans on doing next. He informs me when he goes to the bathroom for crying out loud!!! And it doesn't seem to bother him when I tell him I'm not interested 'could you breath for a moment without telling me about it?' He'll be quiet for a little while, and when I'm right in the middle of writing a feedback he'll put on MTV and start "hey, I like this song, could you download it for me mom?"
No, I don't want tips on how to handle this. I just to complain about it. And I want school to start.

Date: 2004-08-21 07:23 pm (UTC)We'll be in the Netherlands from September 4-18. Adriaan and I are taking a 4-day trip to London (Adriaan's mom, Marian, is watching Ethan for us). I'll figure out exactly when we're leaving and I'll let you know.
I'm so excited. Thank you for meeting me!

Date: 2004-08-20 07:32 pm (UTC)You're not going to want to hear this.
Date: 2004-08-20 04:16 pm (UTC)But, for some reason, when I read your entry I was suddenly struck by how much I'm going to miss it one day, when they no longer want to talk to me so much and don't need my help with anything anymore. And now I'm all choked up.
Guess maybe I should go spend some quality time with my kids today.
Re: You're not going to want to hear this.
Date: 2004-08-20 06:40 pm (UTC)But yeah, it amazes me what this 13 year old still wants to share with me. I don't remember me telling my mom that much!!

Date: 2004-08-20 04:57 pm (UTC)The stage does pass, infuriating as it is. No consolation at all when your nerves are on a knife edge, is it?
I STILL inform everyone I'm going to the loo. Do it everywhere, too. But there IS a good reason. Last did it outside home in a Uni lecture. "Really?", said the tutor, raising his eyebrow. Some habits die HARD!!

Date: 2004-08-20 06:18 pm (UTC)MY KIDS ARE DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!
OT, but you've reminded me of a very old joke...
A man walks into a bar with a car steering wheel down the front of his trousers. The barman says to him, 'Do you know you've got a steering wheel down your trousers?!' and the man replies 'Yeah! It's driving me nuts!'
Vroom! Heh. Sorry for the lameness of the joke, but I hope it took your mind off your troubles for a tick :)
