(no subject)

Three months ago I wrote this. Well, today is the day of the performance. When she auditioned I thought they were going to do this thing at the school stage, but they're going to play this on a real stage, at our theatre. One show was this afternoon and tonight will be a second one to which we (hubby, me and our two sons) are going.

They've been practicing hard, she was excited this morning before she went, but in a good way.

I'm sure it'll be great, and she's having a wonderful time.

It was great fun. When the evening was there I wasn't nervous anymore and could just enjoy the show. It's such fun seeing a bunch of 12-13 year olds doing something like this!

There's a Yiddish word, "kvell" that's specifically for the pride a parent feels when their child does well. I'm sure you'll be kvelling up a storm this evening!!!

Good word that! It really is a powerful feeling and should have it's own word. I was so damn proud that she was part of this lovely group of young people. I saw her sitting and thought 'damn, be she looks gorgeous'. She's turning into a woman before my very eyes and it's wonderful witnessing that!

I'm not sure what the relationship between The Blues Brothers and The Scientist is (except that it's both great music), but I'm sure your daughter will do wonderfully.

If she does well, that'll be excellent, but I mainly hope she has lots of fun; and she gets much respect from me for being there in the first place. :-)

There is no relationship between The Blues Brothers and The Scientist. She just practiced that particular song for the audition because it's one of her favorites, and it sounds really good on a piano. You should hear her playing 'Clocks'!! That's a damn difficult piece to play by the way.

She had a great time, and so did I. I never could have done what she did, I would have been petrified!!

She did great and loved doing it. She said she wanted do try and get in again next year, unless her grades didn't justify her spending lots of time on practicing.

You should see her grades; it's really funny that she even considers the possibility of those being a problem *rolls eyes*
