David Hewlett has started a personal blog, to go with his movie blog.

A couple of days ago I saw Wilby Wonderful (with Paul Gross and Callum Keith Rennie reunited), and please tell me I'm not the only one who's ever seen that movie?! There is so much to love about it *happy happy sigh* If I had time I'd go on and on about it.

On a sidenote, for those not in the know: both David and Callum have played gay guys, and as such have kissed men in front of the camera. I sure know how to pick my crushes.

Last night Gogol Bordello played at Lowlands (The Netherlands). The same night Iggy & The Stooges played. I couldn't help wondering...

And I loved Wilby Wonderful - thank you so much for that! I just loved it, and it was great seeing CKR play a gay guy - so sensitive (of course!)

Oh yeah; sensitive but strong. Sensitive not in the way that he's weepy or something, but sensitive in the way that he's observant, and daring to (sometimes literally) reach out or interfere. And it's pretty damn refreshing to see a gay relationship build in a hopeful manner!

By the way; there's not a kiss between them, but the looks and touches are sizzling *melts*

Wilby is a lovely movie - there a fair amount of fic for it, if you're interested! (Mostly Dan/Duck, but other pairings, too.)

There is some at my Delicious (http://del.icio.us/starfishchick/wilbywonderful), and there might be more in my LJ memories.

So I understand! [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo already pointed me in the direction of a couple of fics and of course (at least it was the logical thing for me to do) I immediately checked [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's fics, and sure enough she had one with a breathtakingly beautiful Duck: 'The lights' (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/cesper/Lights.html). I saw some wonderful writers listed in your memories too, so I'll be sure to check those too!
