Two Torchwood related questions:

I just finished watching the first 5 episodes of Torchwood (blame loreley_se), and before I say anything more about it, out of curiosity:

1) Anyone else is watching?

2) Can anyone guess who I'm most attracted to after these 5 episodes?

I already knew loreley_se and lucky_jack were watching, and I was sure I'd seen it mentioned in other journals too, but couldn't remember whose.

Hm, no. Frankly I find Owen quite creepy. No, it's Rhys I fell for from the start. I'm surprised he lasted so far though, because I expected something bad to happen to him quite early. I still have the feeling he won't last, but I'm afraid to check IMDb to see how many episodes he's got *bites nails*

I'm watching, I'm watching! It's adorable, isn't it? I started watching because I fell in love with Captain Jack in Doctor Who, and I'm still in love with him. Gwen is a darling, and if she gets tired of Rhys, I want him.

But wait till the end of the season -- see if your heart doesn't quicken at the appearance of Ianto.

So what's the answer to #2?

I had to get used to it! It's so much more violent than I expected, and after the first episodes I got the uncomfortable feeling most of the lead characters were so jaded about it all, to the point of being insensitive bastards. Episodes 3 and 5 made up for that though. Captain Jack isn't the kind of guy I'll fall in love with, but at least I'm finding him more sympathetic now, especially after episode 5 (the one with the fairies). I love Gwen, and really identify with her on a whole lot of levels, and if she ever gets tired of Rhys, you'd have to fight me over him, because he's absolutely my kind of guy! Which also answers your question :D

Oh I know people are watching and fic is being written and such! I'm mostly curious if some of the people I know (besides loreley_se and lucky_jack) are watching too. I understand that Jack/Ianto is a popular pairing in this fandom, but so far I'm not seeing it (well, I see some attraction, but not to the point that I'd want to read it. Frankly, so far I feel Ianto deserves better than Jack...)

I love Rhys and Gwen, like Ianto and Tosh a lot, but I'm not so sure about Owen. I'm beginning to warm up to Jack, after seeing episode 5. I'm still struggling with all the moral dilemma stuff; I like how Gwen makes them look at the human side of things.

Ahhh, I wanted to comment before I read the other comments, but now I've read them, and yep, I was wrong. It's Rhys! Which makes perfect sense. I really like him, too. Too bad his role is pretty small. I like him much better than Owen.

I'm torrenting them as I type! They're running slowly but smoothly, so with a little luck I can watch them next week. I guess they'll be ready this weekend, but it's not the kind of thing I want to watch with my youngest around: all the extreme violence and terrified people, it's enough to almost give me nightmares, let alone an 11 year old!

I watched episode 1 and 2 of Torchwood, but stopped, because I found it disturbing. I liked Gwen the most. I think I liked Captain Jack much better in Dr. Who. Of course I was most disappointed that I couldn't find subtitles for torchwood.

Yeah, I knew you watched and I already knew Ianto is your favorite! As loreley_se says; we don't have to fight over the men, as we've got one for each of us (and the way I see it after episode 6, I wouldn't even have to feel guilty towards Gwen *grumbles*)
