Joe Mallozzi wrote in his blog about the surprising fight sequence with Amelia Banks:
I was down on set talking to actress Sharon Taylor while this episode was being written, and she mentioned that she was a kickboxing instructor. Intrigued, I mentioned it to Carl who happily incorporated these ass-kicking abilities into the second draft of the script. Sharon’s performance garnered accolades from all around, but especially from stunt coordinator James Bamford and fellow actor Jason Momoa.

Farscape

I've now watched the first 10 episodes of the first season and wow... Aeryn Sun is definitely getting to me. And episode 9 'DNA Mad Scientist'? I was so damn moved and shaken at certain points. I expected the series to be funny, exciting and weird, but it's also sexy, moving and surprising profound. And damn but the characters are interesting!

In so many ways is completely different to what I expected. Or rather; in many ways it is, but it's so much more.

I hope it keeps up like this (which I understand it does?), because so far I'm impressed with the way this series is written.

Yeah, at times it's like crack fic, and then sometimes you can't stop crying.

Such a good show. I believe that show is the only one where a female character is my favorite, or close to my favorite. Aeryn kicks some major ass. I love Cheiana as well. (sp)

John Crichton is still my favorite character so far! But Aeryn is fast becoming my second runner up, really close behind. I had to get used to Claudia in a different role then Vala, because I'm a huge Vala-fan.

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing the clip. I haven't seen the episode yet, but I've watched all your clips. Can't resist. :D

My internet connection at home is far to slow to download them. :( Waiting the last 4 episodes to arrive. I have a friend who records them for me. :D

Oh man, I don't know what I'd do if I had to go back to a slow internet connection again.

I'd probably have a lot more time to read though...

Good that you've got someone who records them for you :D

Ameliaaaaa! I thought that was really the actress, they didn't do any cutaways like they might have if it were a stunt double. I LOVE HER SO HARD.

I already was weirdly fond of her, but it got even better. I love how fandom is all 'Amelia FTW!!' Funny how these characters in the background grow on you over the years. It's nice to have these regulars step into the foreground every once in a while.

Farscape was uniquely wonderful. Unfortunately, they not only ended it, but tried to transplant the characters (different names; same personalities) into StarGate, where they didn't work.

The thing is, I knew Ben Browder and Claudia Black from Stargate first, and I love the characters they played there, especially Vala. It took no time at all for me to get used to Ben as John. Claudia as Aeryn took some more time, because Vala is in fact my favorite Stargate character in the last 2 seasons it ran. So for me it worked the other way around.

I can now see how people who already knew them from Farscape, would have trouble getting into their Stargate characters.

They've got me now though, both John and Aeryn.
