SG-1

"Maybe it was Memphis" by [livejournal.com profile] princessofg (Daniel/Jack, NC-17, AU, WIP)
A delicious series that's a WIP, but the chapters don't end with cliffhangers (although they do leave me yearning for more, so the 'tbc' at the end of each chapter is no teaser but a bliss). It's an AU where Jack is a pilot, Daniel works at a university and they meet in a Jazz-club. There's instant mutual attraction, a one night stand turns into a weekend spend together, turns slowly into more. I love the pace of this series, the way it makes me feel what they're feeling, the anticipation, the sizzling hot sex and the romance.

"Five ways Daniel improves Atlantis" by [livejournal.com profile] findo (Jack/Daniel and John/Rodney, PG)
A ficlet that made me snigger, warmed my heart and made me happy happy.

The Office

Of course I want Jim and Pam to get together, but part of the attraction is that there's all this longing and sexual tension while they're not together. Fics where they actually get together are often a bit disappointing to me. I figured that for sex to work in fics, it should be about their fantasies. It turns out phone-sex fics work beautifully for me. First when it's done secretly without the other knowing, then when they suspect something and next knowingly and on purpose. And once I'm in the mood, I'm up for them to take it to real life too.

"Insatiate #11" by [livejournal.com profile] voleuse (Jim/Pam, R)
This is set on the evening when Pam just gets home from the Dundies. Pam calls Jim while still a bit drunk and with an itch.

"Phone call" by Anonymous (Jim/Pam, NC-17)
Set somewhere shortly into season 3. They've fallen into the habit of calling each other and each time they take it a bit further.

"Vox" by [livejournal.com profile] sophia_helix (Jim/Pam, NC-17)
This fic is inspired by the first two and takes that final step. It pushed all my buttons in all the right ways.

Untitled ficlet by [livejournal.com profile] melloniel (Jim/Karen, PG-13)
It's only fair that Karen should also get some, and when she gets it, it should be good. With Jim big and warm and smiling fondly, all for her.

Stargate Atlantis

"All these places we have met" by [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy (John/Rodney, NC-17)
John trying to draw Rodney out of an endless AU loop and each time having to start all over again. A rollercoaster ride of emotions and by the way a stunning job by the writer, to come up with all these different stories. Two warnings though: don't read when you're already feeling melancholic and keep tissues handy.

"Running mate" by [livejournal.com profile] lamardeuse (John/Rodney, NC-17)
I love it when Rodney on the one hand can't believe his luck, and on the other hand has his pride hurt so easily. When he can be so oblivious even when he's so clever. When all's well that ends well.

"Junk cheap" by [livejournal.com profile] devildoll (John/Rodney, AU, R)
I seem to have a thing for long AU's where John determinedly seduces a reluctant Rodney... Especially when he succeeds so thoroughly.

"A whole world of trouble" by [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon (John/Rodney, AU, NC-17)
Yeah, definitely a thing for long AU's where John determinedly etc... Equally as delicious as the one directly above.

The Sentinel

"Reasoning" by [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt (Jim/Blair, NC-17)

A thoroughly spanked and satisfied Blair reassures a slightly reluctant Jim. Afterglow that makes me hot.

SGA vids

"My brilliant idea" by [livejournal.com profile] lim (John/Rodney)
downloadable (the first one)
streaming on Imeem (but you'll miss details as this is a smaller version)

I'm weird. I'm always suspicious of vids that are technically fantastic, because I often feel the vidder has put more thought and effort than feeling in the vid, if you get my meaning. Anyway, Lim's vid is stunningly clever and brimful of feelings. I keep coming back to it, because I get all 'See?! It's canon; Rodney is so in love with John.' And it makes waiting for season 4 a little more bearable. Somewhat (god, I'm aching for new sga. Shut up, it's going to be good *cantwaitcantwaitcantwait*).

"Something there" by [livejournal.com profile] samus_mcaslan (Rodney/Katie)
A video that makes me giggle every time. They're awkward and cute, the song is an surprisingly fitting pick and the bit where everybody in Atlantis comments on their relationship is particularly hilarious.

"Revelation" by [livejournal.com profile] moonmip and [livejournal.com profile] dulthar (John/Rodney)
Completely hilarious audio 'fic'! All the audio clips used for this are taken from sga episodes and put together in a decidedly naughty way. It works even if you've never seen an episode, although it's of course funniest when you have. I'll never watch certain scenes the same again! ('So... *velcro rip* shall we get started?')

"Evening on the ground" by [livejournal.com profile] hollywoodgrrl (John)
This clip is about John, and how the responsibility he feels for every loss and failure is haunting him. It has the same nervous and thrilling feel as her vid "Right here, right now" (although I think that one is better as far as editing and timing goes, and which is one of the most exciting sga team clips I've ever seen, but I don't think it's available online anymore which you can find here.)

Ooh, recs! Thank you!

I feel the same way you do about The Office fics -- it's very difficult to combine the most attractive aspects of the show and a happy Jim/Pam ending. Have you read Canary (http://svilleficrecs.livejournal.com/213112.html)? It really worked for me, but I think the characterisations are a bit diverged from canon so I'm not sure if you'd like it. (I'd love to talk more about this story but I won't in case you haven't read it; I think I'll post about it some time. I really like it.)

I haven't had a chance to read SGA in a long time -- the recs here will be useful when I do!

I know I've read 'Canary' and liked it, but I don't remember the details from the top of my head. If you feel like talking more about it then please do, because I always love reading your thoughts on fics and such (in that way I've already read your post with reviews of The Office episodes of the second half of season 2, and I've started commenting multiple times in full squee mode, but then ended up watching whole episodes while checking back, instead of actually commenting, d'oh... I love your post though, definitely, for that very same reason.)

The two SGA AU's I've put up in this entry are great ways to get back into reading SGA, because they're both delightful. Also "Standard Deviations" (http://rustler.livejournal.com/69259.html) by [livejournal.com profile] rustler. I'm still working towards feedback, because guh... It's one of those fics that I read with a pen in hand and kept underlining so many sentences and putting exclamationmarks in the sidelines that I can't possibly put them all in a comment if I don't wanna annoy the author!

I'm glad to hear you've liked my The Office commentary! If it made you watch entire episodes without meaning to I consider it a job well done. *g*

I finally posted (http://paceus.livejournal.com/53712.html) about 'Canary.' I may be obsessed with it because the post became very long (and I cut a lot of stuff I could have commented on!). I hope you'll find it interesting! I'm fascinated by the story, and I'd love to hear what you think about it.

How fun that you found [livejournal.com profile] devildoll because of my rec! And now it was my turn to find all these stories via you. Fandom is a great thing.

You're my number one source for all things SG-1, both with your writing as with your recs; I got to [livejournal.com profile] findo's fic through you also, and I'm currently reading 'Not us', which is all kinds of whoa boy, and I'm taking breaks from reading every few pages so as to spread the delight of reading it. And also to cool down a bit, because it's sizzling hot.

Oh, yesterday I saw 'Grace', which I found a surprisingly satisfying episode, considering that it dealt so profoundly with Sam/Jack, which often comes across as forced to me, but worked very well here imho. It helped that Jack looked so damn good and I went all wide-eyed and OMG! when I recognized the scene from my icon *points up*

Isn't it cool to have PoG midflight again? : )

And JaneDavitt is a treasure. I have not read everything by her yet but I want to.

Always good to know what you are reading, D_E! Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely!! PoG is on a roll, and I feel so spoiled that we all get to profit from that! And JaneDavitt keeps my Blair/Jim love alive :D

I also love reading rec lists from people I know, to see what they love reading and why.
