More holiday cards and well wishes came in:

[livejournal.com profile] samena: Right back at ya!

[livejournal.com profile] hobbitlove83: What a beautiful card, and I immediately knew it had to be from you :D

[livejournal.com profile] starfishchick: Great idea, and AI as always been my charity of choice, so I heartily support your way of putting your money to good use.

[livejournal.com profile] princessofg: I specifically love the picture and it makes me wish we can maybe one day meet in person *hugs*

This afternoon our guests for new year's eve will arrive; my brother-in-law with his wife and 4 kids, my sister and my oldest's girlfriend. I'm not sure yet where we'll all sleep tonight, but it'll be lovely (and noisy).

For now Mr. RC and I need to do a lot of grocery shopping, because it's amazing what this group will most probably eat and drink.

And for the first time in 5 years I don't need to work on January 1st! Yay!!

*puts more champagne on the shopping list*

Have a good one people and hope to see you all healthy, safe and loved on the flip-side :D

Happy new year!

I hope you and all your guests had a good one.

Thank you so much for my Christmas card and the little Miffy. My youngest wanted her but I said no, she's going on my handbag. She's too adorable to give away.

Thank you!!

Miffy is something of a trademark of the chain of bookstores which the one I'm working for is part of. Dick Bruna (http://www.bbc.co.uk/manchester/content/articles/2006/04/25/250406_miffy_feature.shtml) is the creator and he and the owners of the chain (which is also called Bruna) are family.

It's fun, because Dick lives in the same neighborhood our store is in, and he passes our store while going to his nearby studio on his bike every day. He's over 80 but still works. He's a regular customer, and recently we gave away these little Miffies with every 5 Euro spend. My boss asked him if he was interested in them, and he said 'oh sure, I collect them for my grandchildren'.

He's the sweetest man you could ever meet, who leaves people smiling in his wake and I hope he'll stick around for a lot longer still.

Ok, that was a pretty random story, but it amused me :D

I think it's a lovely story and I really, really like the sound of him.

I've decided I want to be 'interesting' when I'm old - purple hats and long scarves are just the start - trouble is I can't decide what age to start at!
