I have a stinking cold with all the disgusting TMI that comes with it, a pounding head, ringing ears, a sore throat and a bark that kept me awake all night, which is highly inconvenient because today is the second day we're moving stuff back into the stationary/book store that I work in.

Now is a very bad time for sick leave! We're just a small group of people, and there's a lot that needs to be done. You do have a point about me spreading the cold though; I expect a lot of sneezing and wheezing in our shop...

Absolutely! Lots and lots of tea. And it helped that all my colleagues were sympathetic and sweet (nothing helps better in case of a cold then people feeling sorry for you).

I hate working with a cold. Though, I'd rather work with the cold than with the cold 'medicine'. At least with the cold I still have some semblance of a brain.

The only 'medicine' I use is a painkiller every now and then and a glass of black current gin in the evening. And watching romantic chick movies with my daughter (the likes of 'Mamma Mia!' and 'Love Actually').
