Since all torrents are done now, and my youngest was away playing with a friend, I thought I'd watch episode 6.

Yikes...

That's a whole lot of blood and gore and violence and cruelty and terror and whatnot. It doesn't get any worse than this I hope?

When I just came home from last weekend, I tried to catch up with my friendslist somewhat, comment here and there, and bookmarked Peg2 con reports for later after skimming through them quickly. Now I come back to them, not just a few, but the majority is suddenly friendslocked! As per usual there seems to be some 'thing' going on that I don't know about. Does someone, anyone have a clue what's with the secrecy and animosity I'm sensing?!

1) First of all: a big thank you for christmas-cards go out to alchemilla, lisabellex, arabia764, lucky_jack, kiltsandlollies, grievous_angel, ladybella, samena, hobbitlove83, almaviva, airgiodslv and starfishchick. All the cards are on display in our living room, looking festive, cheerful and/or sexy and in one particular case smelling deliciously ;)
Also thanks to loreley_se for the virtual card, squeezed into your busy traveling and moving schedule, and alchemilla for the virtual presents; I saw my birthday gifts disappear with a little pang of regret, but now I've got a whole new stack cheering up my user-info!

2) Secondly, melloniel inspired me into making another SGA fanvid, because a) I love the song; 'Binary Love' by The Rakes, b) I love John/Atlantis and c) the song is perfect for that particular 'relationship'. If you want to give it a try, I've got it uploaded here (.wmv, 24.5 MB). I'm still mostly fiddling with the software, but at least I got the aspect ratio right this time.

Help me out please!!

3) Thirdly I want to ask you people a favor: if there's anything I promised you (burning a cd, search for something, feedback, reply, response, explanation, whatever, anything really), which I haven't actually done yet, possibly because I forgot due to my sieve resembling brain, please tell me?! Or when there's something you wanted to ask me, something you'd like me to explain. Just, you know, anything. I'm trying to fix unfinished business, clean the dusty corners in my head, try and fix things I may have broken, close 2006 as neatly as possible. (But also if you find this entry later, it's not too late.) Really, don't hesitate to comment here or send an email to dutche at xs4all dot nl!!!!. You're doing me a favor, honest!

Today I brought my oldest to the train because he's going to spend a couple of days with his cousin and best friend. They've been friends since they were 2 and 3 years old and whenever they're together they're pretty much attached at the hip and up to a lot of mischief but in such a way that you never can stay mad at them. Now they're old enough to travel on their own, they take every opportunity they've got to do so in order to be together. Very Merry and Pippin.

While I was in Utrecht, where the trainstation is, I went to buy tickets for gayadi and me, for the Dungen concert next week. It cost me 15 Euro. For two tickets... Cheapest. Concert. Ever.

And now for something completely different:

My (13 year old) daughter has been reading fanfiction for some time now (HP, LOTR and crossovers between those) and told me it's hard finding good fiction written in Dutch, so she'd like to try some English fanfiction. Specifically Buffy, because she can't find any Dutch fiction in that, and HP, because that's her major fandom. I'm afraid all the fics I can point her to have Harry and Draco fucking, which I doubt she'll like, and the only Buffy fic I've read is a Sentinel crossover which has Xander and Blair fucking. Erm... Anyone know of any good places to go looking, or even specific fics she could like?
(She's not averse to some romance, just no hard-core sex.)
