I give up. I hunger too much for better quality pics of Elijah for my own good. I know I'm risking a massive exodus from my friendslist, but so be it.

And I found some pics of Elijah at that festival in Prague, where he was seen with that girl. You know of whom I speak. There seem to be more pics of them together. Nothing spectacular. No snogging or whatever. Maybe they weren't even visiting the party together. Who the fuck knows.

The thing is, it's some montage of pics and two blueish scans. I wonder if anyone has seen better quality versions of these:

Ok. So a Czech newspaper is calling some lady his girlfriend and naming her Emma. Are there any other reports ANYWHERE in the world, save for Czech newspapers and gossip rags, that have ran stories about Elijah and this Emma?

Furthermore, even though falling for one's co-stars is a long tradition in the acting world, what about this Emma being a media representative for EII? I suppose that's as good a way for Elijah to meet the girl of his dreams as any other, dealing with her professionally at first in connection with a film he's doing and then falling for her as the project goes on. Still, any thoughts about that?

Who other than gossip rags would run the story? The New York Times? The Washington Post?

As deep as the Elijah Wood fandom runs, I don't think his love life warrants that much press, if any at all.

I meant gossip rags ELSEWHERE than in the Czech Republic. =) I thought the UK & US gossip rags were the worst ones in the world in that respect, reporting every hint and gossip about every bigger and smaller star's lovelifes.

Tabloids do blow things out of proportion. But then, they do keep me entertained while in the checkout line at the grocery store.

Anyway. Even if it were to appear in a UK or US tabloid, would you believe it? My point is, why even worry about it? By the time it hits the presses, he could be with someone else, yea?

Weeellll, I wouldn't say I'm worried about it. Curious, perhaps somewhat morbidly so, but not worried. =) The only thing that would worry me would be, well, what happened to me when Billy "outed" Ali. Maybe I'm TOO nice or prudish or something, but after Billy "outed" Ali and started bringing her to award shows etc, my personal little fantasies about him took quite a hit. And I'm not talking fanfic, I do not put my own personal marysues in writing at all. I'm talking daydreams, many of which weren't even all that graphic or sex-filled in the first place. Somehow, after seeing Billy & Ali together, such daydreams about Billy began to fade. It just felt awkward to daydream about, well, much anything with this guy who obviously is very much in love. So, if Elijah now has a gf and will start "outing" her at some point, the only thing that would worry me would be losing those luvverly daydreams. But that's ONLY my problem, not anyone else's. =)

And no, I wouldn't believe it straight away even if it appeared in a UK or US tabloid. But it could perhaps give the story a wee bit more credibility, dontcha think?

Alright, I see where you're coming from. (And, might I add, you're one of the sanest fans I've met. Lately, they've all been tinhats or Mary-Sues of the worst kind.)

And I guess it depends on the tabloid. I'd be more likely to believe it if I saw it on TV... which is probably something I shouldn't admit to. ;)

I think it was the press agent for EiI that said the girlfriend's name is Emma.

Keep in mind that Allie who reported this item is Czech and is trying to translate into English.

Since Elijah has ONLY been in The Czech Republic for the past three months it is only reasonable to expect that the main reports about him will come from Czech sources. And why they should be considered less reliable than any others is beyond me.

Prior to this Elijah said while filming Hooligans/The Yank that he was smitten with a new girlfriend who was a brunette.

Is this the same girl? Seems most likely given the timeframe. But we'll all just have to wait and see.

Ok, I misunderstood Allie then. Fair enough, esp since I'm not a native English speaker myself. =)

I'm not saying that the Czech newspapers and gossip rags would be any less reliable than others, I would just like to see SOME reports about this issue elsewhere too, before jumping into conclusions. AFAIK, various magazines and websites around the globe have repeatedly reported that Elijah has a girlfriend -- after he's been spotted hanging out with his sister. So you know, I'm just taking this with a pinch of salt until we start seeing more reports in other media outlets about Elijah and his gf.

And as for that report before The Yank, if I recall correctly, the story appeared on ONE website, ONE single obscure gossip & news site out of kabillions. I think most ppl dismissed it as a useless rumour when further reports and information was nowhere to be found.

I know this may sound like a desperate attempt to hold on to a feeble illusion that our Wee Geek is still single, and maybe it really is that, I don't know. Being a sensible and somewhat grown-up (HA!) person inside this fangirlish appearance, I should have no business thinking twice about it, nor any interest in our Wee Geek's lovelife in general. But for some weird reason I am thinking about it more than I should, and Elijah's lovelife does tickle my curiosity regardless. But like you said, all we can do is wait and see. If he really does have a gf, this Emma person or whoever, sooner or later she will be "outed", either by Elijah himself or by the gossip rags. And then we shall know the truth. =)
